Air Europa
Air Europa is one of the leading Spanish airlines. It was found in 1986 as Air Espana SA. At the beginning lines belonged to English tour operator ILG, owning British airlines Air Europa operating charter flights between Great Britain and Spain. However, after the bankruptcy of ILG and Air Europa the company was taken after in 1991 by Juan Jose Hidalgo. Thus, the carrier has become first private airline in Spain, which since 1993, after the deregulation of the aviation market in the country, began to operate the regular flights within Spain.
Nowadays Air Europa operates 200 flights a day, servicing more than 40 airports in Europe, North Africa, both Americas and the Carribean. It is the best-established in Venezuela. Caracas-Madrid-Brussels route makes 20% of the carrier’s turnover. Air Europa is in the SkyTeam alliance.
